Asosiasi e-commerce Indonesia (idEA) menekankan pentingnya pemerintah memiliki data ecommerce akurat, resmi, dan memberikan edukasi guna meningkatkan kualitas SDM di bidang IT. Edukasi yang diperlukan melalui edukasi formal atau informal. Edukasi informal telah dilakukan oleh beberapa grup BUMN yang ke daerah-daerah guna mendidik masyarakat agar menjadi pebisnis ulung di ranah e-commerce.

Tidak hanya itu, edukasi yang dibutuhkan melalui formal dan informal. Edukasi informal telah dilakukan oleh sejumlah grup BUMN ke daerah-daerah untuk mendidik masyaraka agar mereka dapat menjadi pebisnis ulung di ranah e-commerce. Selain itu, edukasi formal juga diberikan agar semakin banyak tenaga kerja lokal yang sudah terlatih di bidang IT guna meminimalkan impor tenaga kerja dari negara yang lain.

1E-commerce bukannya tidak ingin diatur, tapi jika diatur terlalu banyak akan membuat perkembangannya menjadi tidak bagus. Ketua Umum Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (Hipmi), Bahlil Lahadia mengungkapkan pemerintah harusnya tidak hanya fokus pada pertumbuhan kawasan ekonomi, tapi juga fokus pada penguatan skala usaha.
