Ketatnya Persaingan Memicu E-commerce Terus Berinovasi

Kehadiran e-commerce menghadirkan nuansa baru dalam berbelanja. Masyarakat tidak perlu lagi repot-repot mengunjungi toko atau mal. Cukup duduk santai di rumah dengan laptop atau smartphone dan koneksi internet, belanja sudah dapat dilakukan.

Berdasarkan data BPS pada September 2016 silam, jumlah pemain e-commerce di Tanah Air sudah semakin banyak, yaitu berkisar antara 26,2 juta. Jumlah ini mengalami peningkatan sebesar 17 persen dalam kurun waktu 10 tahun terakhir.

Ketatnya persaingan ini menuntut para pelaku e-commerce untuk terus mengembangkan strategi pemasarannya. Bayu Syerli Rachmat, Vice President Marketing Bukalapak mengungkapkan bahwa diferensiasi harus dilakukan agar e-commerce populer dan unik. Selain itu, tambah Bayu, Bukalapak mulai menghadirkan berbagai produk yang belum pernah dijual di marketplace lain, seperti emas, reksa dana, hingga kredit mobil.

Pada kesempatan yang sama, Head Communiction & Partnership Mataharimall, Alvin Aulia mengatakan tujuan e-commerce mereka sudah cukup berbeda dengan yang lainnya. Sebag, konsepnya bertujuan  untuk menyaingi Amazon, situs e-commerce terbesar di Amerika Serikat.

Seperti yang diketahui Amazon tidak hanya mengembangkan e-commerce, tapi juga toko dan pengiriman lewat drone. Sementara itu, Head Brand Marketing Alfacart, Yusi Obon menuturkan bahwa yang dilakukan pihaknya berfokus pada kebutuhan sehari-hari dan ke daerah-daerah di luar kota besar.
