Alibaba Suntik Dana ke Tokopedia dengan Angka Fantastis

Raksasa e-commerce asal Cina, Alibaba, resmi membeli saham Tokopedia dengan angka 1,1 miliar dolar AS atau setara Rp 14,7 triliun. Babak investasi ini dipimpin langsung Alibaba Group dengan partisipasi dari pemegang saham Tokopedia saat ini. Tentu saja, investasi ini otomatis menjadikan Alibaba Group sebagai pemegang saham minoritas di PT Tokopedia.

Tokopedia meyakini bahwa kemitraannya dengan Alibaba akan meningkatkan skala serta kualitas pelayanan kepada para pengguna. Hal tersebut juga dapat mempermudah penjual dan mitra Tokopedia dalam upaya mengembangkan usaha ke seluruh pelosok nusantara hingga dunia.

Menurut Wlliam Tanuwijaya, selaku CEO dan Co-Founder Tokopedia, Alibaba adalah sosok guru dan panutan model. Alibaba Group dan Tokopedia sendiri memiliki visi yang sama yaitu membantu UMKM dalam kesuksesan usahanya.

Sejak didirikan pada tahun 2009 silam, Tokopedia berhasil menjelma menjadi platform marketplace di Indonesia yang memungkinkan para UMKM dan pemegang merek lokal di Indonesia memulai dan menjalankan usahanya.
